Do you sometimes see those people on the sides of the road cleaning up others garbage? Those are your local volunteer. That is a pet peeve of mine (littering) and I wish the laws were stricter on that but unfortunately, we all see it everywhere we go.
Naperville has a great website devoted to donating your time, a way to give back to the community. There are many ways we can do so. Families can sign up to pitch in and work together in various areas. You may want to help out at a local pantry, clean litter or perhaps donate time to an animal shelter and walk dogs. Whatever you may wish to do it is all for a good cause. If you have thought of donating your time in the past but never get around to doing anything about it you may want to check out this website GivingDupage and see if there is something that interests you.
I was on my way home from a showing this afternoon and stopped off in Oswego (20-minute drive west of Naperville) to snap these photos. This park was an incredible addition to the downtown area. Downton Oswego is situated right on the Fox River. There wasn't a soul around (except my nature friends). The photo above gives you a good idea of the gray winter day yet it wasn't very cold. After taking these, I realized how much the animals seemed to enjoy the peacefulness. I must admit I did too!

The picture above is my favorite photo. It looks like two separate pictures but it's not. I was standing in front of this patch of water to get close to the ducks. The snow barrier between the water was so pretty.
I still am not sure what kind of prints these are. If you know I'd love to find out!
While I walked up to the park a big old hawk flew near me and stayed up in this tree. I knew he was watching me and those poor ducks...
