Going Green in Homeownership

If someone said, "Do you want a green home?" the answer may be, "No I prefer blue".  Now it seems going green is everywhere.   Even HGTV has a 'Green Home Giveaway'.  Real estate agents can earn a 'green' designation.  I'm someone who loves old homes so buying 'green' may not be high on my list if I'm looking for a historic home.  I'm all for conserving energy and like 'natural' materials but I feel homes with too much stone, concrete and glass have a 'cold' feel to them.  I suppose the younger generation may love this look and feel.  The Chicago  Museum of Science and Industry has a 'smart home exhibit'.  I found a video of this exhibit on Realtor.org, check it out and see what you think.  green home video

By Jacqueline Beardsley The Importance of Disclosing! Violation of Real Property Disclosure- What is the Real Property Disclosure Report and what happens if information given on that report may not be truthful? Simply put, the purpose of the report is to provide buyers with information about material defects in the property. An example of a material defect would be water damage that was caused by a leak.  That is what this true Case Study is about.  I read about this Case Study in the  Illinois REALTORS® legal hot topics.
