Wecome to my first blog!

Welcome to the first posting of my new blog: NAPERVILLEILLINOIS.

I am a long-time resident of Naperville as well as a full time Realtor who loves old homes and photography.

I don't know why I didn't do this sooner.  I always get frustrated when I want to see pictures of a town, I'm not familiar with but can't find any.  This is what brought me to creating this blog.  I plan to have a great gallery of photos, which will be linked to my flicker account, so feel free to click on that link to see more.

Naperville Riverwalk

This photo was taken at the Naperville Riverwalk.  It's one of my favorites.  This time of year is so short lived so I took many photos here to share with others.  You can find them in the photo album on my flickr account.

This was obviously not taken at the riverwalk but at Danada located in Wheaton Il just minutes from Naperville.   This was taken on October 22nd.  The day was too nice to be at my desk, so I decided to take more photo's.  The memory in my camera was full so I had to leave.  I was so bummed; the day will NOT be that nice again.  Most of the leaves may have fallen believe it or not.  That's how quickly this time of year passes.

This is my childhood home!  This was taken on 10-19-10.  When my parents bought this home, it was white with green shutters.  I was always proud to live here.  The new owner's keep it up nicely but because my memories mostly stem from here, I prefer it the way it was back then.  This home was featured in Collier's magazine.  The owner who had it before we did was an interior designer, and they have some photos of the inside.  I have been on a HUNT for that issue but haven't had any luck so far.  Please contact me if you have any ideas on how I may find that issue...

Hope you enjoyed my first post.  I think I'll get the hang of this and hopefully soon will have quite a collection of photos to share.

By Jackie Beardsley WHAT JACKIE DOES TO GET HOMES SOLD! When Sellers had to move and the home was left vacant, this is how I helped them reach their goals in just a few days.  Above is my MLS photo of the kitchen which beautifully shows off their hard work. When I was asked to help out of state Sellers get their home sold quickly, it was a challenge well worth the hard work ahead.  First, I did a CMA for selling the property AS IS (picture below).

By Jackie Beardsley Staging your home for sale-is it necessary? There are many factors that go into making a decision about whether or not you need to stage your home.  Is it a buyers market or a sellers market?  What is your competition, the comparable properties in your area.  How much staging is necessary, if at all?  These are things that your agent will determine and help you make an informative decision. Not all agents are alike.  Some may believe strongly that it is going to be beneficial to stage your home and will show you the stats to back it up.  The stats are true BUT it can be misleading and the stats used may be irrelevant to your situation. Every home and the sellers situation are unique.  Staging DOES help but that doesn't mean you will have to hire a professional stager and pay thousands of dollars. If we are in a buyers market you will want to lead the market and not be chasing after it, that is how you will lose money.  Mo...
